About Breathing Room Yoga

Breathing Room Yoga (BRY) opened its doors in September 2006 in Livingston, MT. Co-Owners, Lisa Hughes and Jen Tanner brought to this small town of 7,000 its first all yoga studio.  Breathing Room was received in great fashion with packed classes and much enthusiasm by the community.  Since then, classes have grown in attendance as well as the variety of classes offered.  Amy Titgemeier Stevens bought the business fom Lisa and Jen in June 2008 and threw her passion behind an already successful business.  Amy, a registered 200 hour Yoga Alliance instructor, has taught for four years , but has been a student of yoga for the past thirteen.   Amy’s practice has grown along with her love of yoga, and she continues to educate herself on the many styles and schools of yoga. Amy integrates her love of physical activities and the outdoors into her class style. Amy is presently teaching Mondays and Fridays at 9 am, Tuesdays at 6 am and Thursdays at 5:30 pm.  She also teaches Hot Yoga Tuesdays at 9 am and Wednesday evenings at 5:30 pm.  She alternates weeks with Allison Meredith to teach the 8 am class.

Other wonderful instructors that add to our setting:

Karen Stenseth is a certified YogaFit Instructor and a licensed Naturopathic Physician. She has been teaching yoga for five years and is currently leading the 9:00 am Wednesday Gentle Fluidity class and the 6:00 am Sunrise yoga class on Thursday mornings. She honors all who take the time and the risk to step out of the details of their lives to breathe and move in their own way within their own bodies. She is grateful to be on this journey with all of her students and looks forward to extending her experience of yoga and natural medicine to them.

Allison Meredith is new to our staff but not new to the whole body wellness idea. She is a certified massage therapist and owns her own business. She is a YogaFit certified instructor and has been teaching yoga through Adult Community Education and co-taught the sunrise yoga in Sacajawea Park in Livingston this past summer. Allison teaches Mondays at 5:30 pm, a Gentle/Restorative class, and Thursdays at 9 am, a Slow Flow class.  She also alternates Saturdays with Amy at the 8 am class.  Try out a class, you will love her enthusiasm and the warmth she brings to her students.

Sara Rossi, who along with her family, spends half the year in Livingston and half the year in Costa Rica, is a Registered Yoga Therapist (RYT), registered Yoga Alliance teacher and Thai Massage, Infant massage instructor and Hypno-Birthing instructor.  When Sara is in Livingston, she teaches Gentle/Restorative yoga, and prenatal and Hypnobirthing classes.  Sara is the person to connect with for any massage and therapeutic needs you may have to compliment your yoga practice. She can be reached at sarayoga3@yahoo.com or 600-1994.

Stop in and check out Breathing Room Yoga’s beautifully sustainably built studio at 122 N. Main St., Suite #4, Livingston, MT.   It has recycled ceiling “tiles” from an old barn door.  There is cork flooring with water based sealant and low VO2 based paint.  We recycle our water bottles and paper and all of our cleaning products are natural, non-commercial brands.  The small studio means a small place to heat and cool and our thermal-lined drapes keeps the wind out and sun in.

All of us at Breathing Room Yoga – teachers and students – love the sense of community we feel when we share our yoga practice together.  Come by soon, we’d love to see you and meet you, remember our classes are for everyone, no exceptions.

Peace/Shanti
