Always wanted to do yoga but didn’t because you have a bad back? Or maybe you’ve heard yoga can hurt your back if it’s not done right, so you’ve stayed away. Well this class is for you. Come learn safe, supported, slow ways of lengthening into poses that will alleviate the tightness that both comes from back pain and leads to it. Your instructor, Savannah Barnes, is a registered yoga teacher with decades of practice that began when she needed to heal her own back issues. Because she’s been through it, Savannah has a lot of patience with those who endure chronic pain and a dedication to knowing the physiology of the poses to work beyond it.
For anyone wanting to start a yoga practice or go back to the basics, this series is for you. You’ll learn basic postures and breathing techniques as well as what makes yoga, yoga. Plus, we’ll talk about how to modify postures for your unique, individual body so yoga can work for you. This will be an interactive class with plenty of time for questions and discussion each week.
